Process

Lets dig in.

Every project doesn't start out polished. There's a lot of trial, error, research, and experimentation that goes into everything created.

1. Chaos

Gathering information, inspiration, research, competitor information, word maps, stream of conscious thoughts. It's all about submersing yourself in the client, the product/service, and the problem they are trying to solve.

2. Hone

This is when the main idea or solution comes out and the creative chaos starts to turn into organized thought. What's the big takeaway, and how do we start to communicate that verbally and visually? Loose sketches, more word maps, headlines, and copywriting start to form.

3. FAFO

Now that you have your big idea, it's time to dig deep into the creative process. Things start to get messy again and the bulk of experimentation happens here, or "Fuck Around and Find Out". The thing you sketched or had in your head might work, and it might fall apart. The level of fidelity will vary. Stress test and BUILD to define a cohesive system.

4. Re-hone

Well...shit, we made a mess again. Now we gotta sort through and reorganize our thoughts. What is working? What needs to be left behind? Then push the good to be great. Ensure every element is reinforcing the main idea/solution and continue to stress test. Step 3 and 4 may be repeated several times during the process as every project is different.

5. Ship

Every project is slightly different, and client feedback can come in throughout the process, but this point is where we show them the system/solution. It's their time to do a bit of stress testing and collaborating to make sure all of the elements fit the vision. If more refinement is needed, we back it up a bit. If everything is solid, we ship it.
